If you can't or dont want to learn 3d modelling, you can either ask someone to create a model for you or download a free model from the internet (there are plenty of sources). You can find custom equipment items of others in the steam workshop in your Steam client or directly in game in the custom equipment editors. For this to work, it is required that you are logged into steam when you want to save/load/upload custom items! Otherwise, there is no way for the game to validate that you are the owner of the item and you cant use the custom equipment editors. Others can still use it if they subscribe to the workshop item for instance, or if they duplicate a unit from a battle, but they cant modify the item and upload it as their own creation. To prevent stealing of custom items, only the creator can load the item in the custom equipment editors. ![]() So the custom items you use are always included when you publish something to the workshop and the players dont have to download any additional mods, everything is included in the workshop item. ![]() Roger has appeared on stage away from The Who on many occasions, and his 1994 solo concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall, with The Juilliard Orchestra, was the fastest selling event in the venue’s history. It was a track from his first solo album Daltrey, released that same year, which he followed up with the albums Ride A Rock Horse (1975), One Of The Boys (1977), the soundtrack to McVicar (1980), and After The Fire (1985). Roger has also cultivated a singing career outside of The Who, beginning in 1973 when he found himself on the BBC’s Top Of The Pops, the UK’s then premier chart TV show, promoting the single ‘Giving It All Away’ which reached number five in the UK charts. He has also narrated a series for the History Channel, undergoing extreme hardships similar to those faced by pioneering settlers in America and elsewhere. Other US TV appearances include Lois & Clarke (Superman), Midnight Caller, William Tell, Sliders and Highlander as well as Leprechauns for Celtic Leprechaun Ltd and The Bill, the long running UK TV police drama. Most recently he appeared in the US CBS TV show CSI – which uses Who songs as theme music – as five separate, differently made-up characters, one of them a middle-aged African-American woman. Other film credits over the years include Ken Russell’s Lizstomania, the title role in McVicar, Lightning Jack with Paul Hogan, Teen Agent, and numerous roles in TV dramas. This in turn led Roger to develop a concurrent career as a film actor while continuing to sing with the Who. In this respect Roger became Tommy, the deaf dumb and blind boy of Pete’s imagination, and it was therefore only natural that he should assume the role in Ken Russell’s movie adaptation of the rock opera in 1975, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. At the same time, he contributed to the group’s sense of showmanship by developing his unique skill at twirling his microphone lead around like a lasso and, by the time of Tommy in 1969, becoming one of rock’s most iconic sex symbols with his golden curls, bare chest and fringed suede coats. In surrendering his leadership of the band to Pete when the latter became the group’s songwriter, Roger became the mouthpiece for Pete’s lyrics and ideas. Roger’s earliest tastes in music ran to the blues and R&B which formed the setlist during their early years as the Detours, as well as Fifties rock’n’roll, which is reflected in his outstanding interpretations of such noted Who covers as ‘Summertime Blues’ and ‘Shakin’ All Over’. That same energy, coupled with his unwavering resolve, has sustained the group during periods of uncertainty ever since. ![]() In those days Roger, whose daytime job was in a sheet metal factory, even made the band’s guitars, and it was his energy and ambition that drove the group during their formative years. Roger first assembled the group that would become The Who in 1959 while at Acton County School, recruiting John Entwistle and subsequently agreeing to John’s proposal that Pete Townshend should join. So what does everyone think of the Roger discog? I've heard Daltrey, Ride a Rock Horse, One Of The Boys, McVicar and Under A Raging Moon myself, curious to hear what y'all think, especially of the ones I haven't heard. If any one member of The Who can be said to be the group’s founding member it is singer Roger Daltrey, who was born in the West London suburb of Shepherd’s Bush on March 1, 1944. I literally thought it was gonna be a cover and the original would be some kind of old blues tune. The instrumental interludes are pleasant, but I was surprised to learn that the album features easily the best original of Roger's solo career in Waiting On A Friend, which is just a really wonderful song. I've had McVicar on a whole lot the past couple weeks though, I feel it's very well paced, the album just flies on by and it's great every time. once, according to Discogs, and the film hasn't seen a DVD anywhere but the UK. I feel like the "hidden gem" of the bunch is the soundtrack album for McVicar though. People that like The Who seem to enjoy Under A Raging Moon, and fair enough, it's a good album. Hell, most of them don't have more than one or two CD prints. ![]() I noticed that a lot of his albums are badly unloved, with a scant three of them on Spotify. ![]() ![]() He coauthored Jesus, the Final Days with N. Of special interest is the question of how long the autographs of New Testament writings remained in circulation. Another important source of evidence about Jesus and early Christianity can be. If there is one story that is most commonly associated with Jesus, it is, hands down, this one. There are thousands more New Testament Greek manuscripts than any other. This particular story has become one of the defining portraits of Jesus yet, all 12 verses have been removed or footnoted in new translations. He also argues that Secret Mark, like the recently published Gospel of Jesus’ Wife, is probably a modern forgery. Jesus said He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her. Evans argues that the Gospel of Thomas is not early or independent of the New Testament Gospels but that it should be dated to the late second century. This book critically analyzes important texts and quotations in their original languages and engages the current scholarly discussion. This diverse literature includes the familiar Gospels of the New Testament, the much less familiar literature of the Rabbis and of the Qur’ān, and the extracanonical narratives and brief snippets of material found in fragments and inscriptions. Ĭompared to freshwater ecosystems, life in soda lakes is often completely dominated by prokaryotes, i.e. The colour varies between particular lakes, depending on their predominant life forms and can range from green to orange or red. This makes them unusually productive ecosystems and leads to permanent or seasonal "algae blooms" with visible colouration in many lakes. In either case, it represents an important barrier, both physically and between strongly contrasting biochemical conditions.Ī rich diversity of microbial life inhabit soda lakes, often in dense concentrations. ![]() The depth of the oxic/anoxic interface separating the two layers varies from a few centimeters to near the bottom sediments, depending on local conditions. Stratification can be permanent, or with seasonal mixing. Many soda lakes are strongly stratified, with a well-oxygenated upper layer ( epilimnion) and an anoxic lower layer ( hypolimnion), without oxygen and often high concentrations of sulfide. In Mono Lake, California and Lake Van, Turkey, such precipitation has formed columns of tufa rising above the lake surface. In some soda lakes, inflow of Ca 2+ through subterranean seeps, can lead to localized precipitation. A good example is the Dead Sea, which is very rich in Mg 2+. This results in a neutral (or slightly basic) salt lake instead. Otherwise, dissolved magnesium (Mg 2+) or calcium (Ca 2+) will quickly remove the carbonate ions, through the precipitation of minerals such as calcite, magnesite or dolomite, effectively neutralizing the pH of the lake water. The pH of most freshwater lakes is on the alkaline side of neutrality and many exhibit similar water chemistries to soda lakes, only less extreme.Īnother critical geological condition for the formation of a soda lake is the relative absence of soluble magnesium or calcium. Soda lakes occur naturally throughout the world (see Table below), typically in arid and semi-arid areas and in connection to tectonic rifts like the East African Rift Valley. An important reason for the high productivity is the virtually unlimited availability of dissolved carbon dioxide. This makes them the most productive aquatic environments on Earth. Gross primary production ( photosynthesis) rates above 10 g C m −2 day −1 (grams of carbon per square meter per day), over 16 times the global average for lakes and streams ( 0.6 g C m −2 day −1), have been measured. In spite of their apparent inhospitability, soda lakes are often highly productive ecosystems, compared to their (pH-neutral) freshwater counterparts. The resulting hypersaline and highly alkalic soda lakes are considered some of the most extreme aquatic environments on Earth. ![]() High pH and salinity often coincide, because of how soda lakes develop. In addition, many soda lakes also contain high concentrations of sodium chloride and other dissolved salts, making them saline or hypersaline lakes as well. ![]() They are characterized by high concentrations of carbonate salts, typically sodium carbonate (and related salt complexes), giving rise to their alkalinity. The experience of accumulating wealth and experiencing the access that it affords the wealthy can be a high. Greed feels like freedom, because the cash value of “cash” is extremely high. ![]() You cannot serve both God and money” (Matthew 6:24). Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. Greed, at its purest, is willing to sacrifice all these things for its own ends. There are many other Bible verses about greed and how it can cloud our vision of what really matters. Nevertheless, when the desire to accumulate wealth becomes all-consuming, it can eclipse the realities that make having money worth anything: Like health, finances are one of the things that are easy to take for granted until they are gone. Granted-money can make life a lot easier. “Then he said to them, ‘Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed life does not consist in an abundance of possessions’” (Luke 12:15). Sufficient for the day is its own trouble” (Matthew 6:34). Jesus’s claim in the Sermon on the Mount is the ultimate antithesis to greed: “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. God could have given Israel an endless supply of gold, weapons, and a pillar of fire to fight their battles.īut he deigned not to do this so that Israel would trust God. “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you never will I forsake you’” (Hebrews 13:5). This isn’t the same thing as asking: “How many rich people are cheerful givers?” How many greedy people are cheerful givers? “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). Greed is the inordinate, insatiable desire to accumulate money, power, and security to such as a degree that it supersedes moral integrity, and even spiritual integrity. “For everything in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-comes not from the Father but from the world” (1 John 2:16)īecause physical blessings-even earthly power and money-come from God, the inordinate desire to amass and accumulate wealth in a way that distorts human nature should be guarded against diligently. God understands this, and engages greed as the tangled and tangling reality in the human heart that it really is. Greed is such an alluring disposition of the human heart, because power is so … powerful.Īnd money is one way of representing that power. The more money you have, the more opportunities are available to you. In Scripture, we find an engagement with the reality of money-and the desire for money-as that which it has always represented: power. That’s why, in the Bible, we don’t find strict absolutisms that demonize or obscure the complex realities of aspiration, wealth, growth, inheritance, success, profit, and the opportunity for greed to plant itself in the human heart and grow like a weed. The line between greed and aspiration-between the bottomless desire for more and the human drive to succeed-are easily blurred. ![]() "Social Point - Lessons from building a game start-up and being acquired (Chartboost Dev House)".
